New crush Lana Del Rey

So we have a full on style crush on Lana Del Rey, saying that we adore her voice as well. We have had Video games and Born to die on repeat. Her glossy old-Hollywood features, wavy hair, amazing make up and mixture of vintage/ preppy/gangster Nancy Sinatra style dress sense, Has us hooked. I mean she is so a bit of us vintage style and gold bling. Loves denim cut offs and converse combo yet looks beyond stunning in glamorous gowns.

Ill admit it's a full on crush she's my iphone screen saver my get slim inspiration. My friend did ask why I had a female as my screen saver. Hmmm maybe she thought I should have David Beckham as inspiration to get a hot man I mean he does look great in his new H&M advert see him  here http://www.hm.co.uk/ but if I can turn in to Lana Del Rey or even just get slim I'm sure a lucky man will follow. For now me and Sienna were inspired by our new icons denim shorts see our photos below.

I never told my daughter that I thought Miss Del Rey had wonderful legs.... but I'm thinking are we so in tune as she said this soon after we took our pictures..

 " Mum when I was a baby  you had a chubby tummy, and when I was a baby you had chubby legs and now I'm older you have a slim tummy and chubby legs.I'm sure this is why no men have been spying their eyes on you. You have to keep your eyes on your looks mum"

I mean is this the same girl who last week told me I was slim. I know she means well she is so intent on playing cupid she wants me to look my best, its all to make me happy apparently.

That funny thing called cancer

Cancer isn't funny but the precious moments that come after finding out a loved one has Cancer can be. Its an unforgettable time to cherish. When you realise life can be shortened and to appreciate those moments for life.

Its been a hard few months of laughter and tears.

When tears came this weekend I tried to hide them from Sienna however when she found me crying she rubbed my back and said " Mum remember the secret, anything is possible for those who believe" to know I had installed such belief in my daughter that she could help me in my time of need with those words was amazing.

 For anyone who knows the Secret by Rhona Byrne these ladies above are my gratitude rocks. I am forever grateful for their life and the impact they have had on mine.

Here come the girls

A few weeks ago me and Sienna went to the cinema with two of our favourite stylish girls.

Sienna has been taking her ipad everywhere. Anyone who is thinking about getting an ipad for their mini me defo should.It hasn't left her side since December.She has so many apps to entertain her and finds new ones that are free daily. It was an expensive present but money well spent.

Here are the girls at 12 weeks old, it was our dream that they would stay friends for life and be as close as their mums. Six years on so far so good, We never imagined we would be two single mums living a stone throw from each other and that they would go to the same school we have been blessed. Now My best friend is recently engaged to a lovely man who is perfect for my two stylish girls. I cant wait for the wedding.

Mac is from Debenhams, hat and scarf from Zara, Jeans Zara, Addidas trainers.

Miss L changed her trainers to walk the dog Si however objected to borrow wellies and opted to wear her new patent trainers to walk the dog. Apparently all in the name of fashion. I don't think she had her fashion forwarded thinking cap on as muddy scuffed trainers is not the look we were going for.

Is it bad of me to admit I was tempted to push her in when I saw her trainers. Not cause they were expensive just that they had no more to buy,  and we both loved hence why she kept them on, However she looked far to cute and all I did was cuddle my big frizz head.

We are not always told when Sienna's pictures are going to be printed or on websites someone normally informs me that hey I spy Sienna here ,there or somewhere. Today my lovely friend Natalie had her spectacles on while baby shopping.

I rushed into show Sienna her pictures on her i pad she was grinning extremly happy to be on the computer.

After School today Sienna said " Mum what's the worst thing that happened to you today?"

I thought the normal question was was how has your day been? Or did anything good happen today? Nothing bad had happened I said, oh except I tried on some jeans and they didn't fit. She replied " oh don't be silly mum I bet you picked up the wrong size. Cause if you were fat you would have love handles"

If only she knew......

Mummy you've got wobbly bits

As Children my mum always read The Large family to us, and in turn we read them to our children. I always loved this book where Mrs Large made the whole family diet with her, only to sneak down at night time to eat chocolate cake.

So according to the scales I am my version of Mrs Large. Yes you guessed it they have been lying to me again!!! I mean how dare they tell me I've put pounds on, I mean as if my legs rubbing and clothes not fitting wasn't enough. It had to go and show me figures and rub numbers in my face.

 

So look at me all ready to go jogging in whats left of the snow. I'm being very brave showing you me in my running gear. But hey I'd only be kidding myself if I didn't as I don't go running in the house So either way I will be seen.

 My lovely daughter assures me I'm not fat, as she's been looking at old pictures and found one of me when " WOW MUM you really were fat"

Yes I was blown up slightly but I think she is taking the WOW bit

 too far.( I mean how can she talk at least I'm smiling in the picture, unlike her)

So eating healthy is the new motto.

 

I'm sure running around in carrot coloured tops and eating carrots will have me trim in a jiffy. Hmm the word jiffy reminds me of jaffa cakes. Oh dear how will I survive.

sister sledge

Sister Sledge a band after my own heart! Dressed in sheer tops and high waisted disco pants. I could of and so should of been part of that band. I mean " We are family, I got all my sisters with me." Well the one sister I do have.

For years I always wanted the little sister who looked up to me, so we could talk fashion and boyfriends and all the fun things you can only do with a little sister.Sometimes I have to pinch myself that after 25 years we now have the sisterly friendship I always wanted.

We have been enjoying weekly visits to the either hairdressers,  nail shop, lunches or shopping.

So Sienna is totally out of practise of being my personal photographer she is well back in to model mode and It's all about her.

So my sister was on hand to take pictures.

After school me and Sienna took my sister her new Miu Miu trainers for a walk in the woods, she wasn't best pleased but was a good sport.
